Excellent! They look perfect. Happy fishing with them mate.

The best part about making your own lures is that if they don't work you can always go back and get them to evolve. And when they do work it is like heaven.

Thanks all, I really need this kind of appreciation.
The next level is dressed spinners and some colorful blades. We are planning few trips for trout, most probably in May-june. The real test is yet to come.

Thanks All :-)

Very nice stuff you have crafted there.

I saw some interesting hybrids (fly meets spinner) being used by some American fly fishermen on the Ganga. Basically instead of a bushy fox tail they had ties on long streamers on extremely small spinners. Give that a try and see!

Thanks all,
Making your own spinners is realy a fun and it is cost effective too if ur a lure angler specialy for trout.

Mahaseerken, i will defiantly try soft plastic minnows and streamers too. I got few spin flies from joe's they have a spinners a very light brass bead and a fly tied on a hook, they are great

I got the equipment (Blades, body weights, bearing weights, clevis, wires) from an online shop of USA, It is not actually a kit, i bought all stuff individually and formed my own kit.

If u guys are interested in making ur own spinners then you may get some stuff locally (as we are living in the most creative part of world) :-)

Blades: The only stuff that is difficult to produce locally in less cost.

Weights: I managed to prepared my own brass weights from a local workshop, they are exactly like mepps#1 and worden's 1/8oz, they cost me around US$ 0.20/piece, where as its cost in USA excluding freight + taxes is around US$ 0.50/piece.
You can also go for a molds for lead weights, here the workshop made me a mold in just $15 where as its price on the online shop is $40-50 :D

Beads: they are available in abundance in metal, glass, plastic and stones (btw im also using aqeeq beads too, they look great)

Wires: Steel wires are also locally available.

Clevis: The workshop here also offered me to make stirrup clevis , but they are cheaper in USA where u can get 500 in $6, so may be u guyz will get them in India too.

Now someone has to start crafting spinners :D

Thanks all for the encouragement and appreciation. We are going to a mega trout fishing trip for 8 days, starting from 2nd July, lets c

I want to share few things that might help someone.

What we discovered is, making spinners is not just buying material and assembling.

Technically there are few areas
1. Finalize right body wrt blade type. Test it in the same type of water currents where you are going to fish. Some blades are only meant for fast currents whereas some works in all situations. (Google it)
2. Choosing right blade size, blade color/pattern for the fish you are focusing (Google it)
3. Coloring, you have to research which type of paints are available, and how to use them, Car paints are best, some nail polish also works.
4. Other than Blades and clevis every thing is either available or can be produced in workshops.
5. You will defiantly injured your fingers lots of time.

Regards
