Why do you think it needs servicing? is it busted or just an annual?

Perhaps someone on the Forum can help, you may be better off sending it with someone to the US than mailing it out.

If you can strip the reel down and find what exactly you need to replace, then you can order the parts from one of the reel parts stores and get your reel working by yourself. I service my reels myself, let it be anual maintenance or a repair. It is not that hard and I assume you have the schematics, even if you don't then you can download them online.

Fred The reel is made by Shimano and not Pure fishing.

See I told you it is not that hard :-)

Just to let you know from my experience that it is a real pain to get shimano parts though.

PS: I am bad at servicing my spinning reels, but stripping down my conventionals is not an issue :-)

Shimano seems to have a poor image overseas with regard to parts/service.

This is the exact opposite of Australia.

Here, Shimano reels come with a 10 yr. warranty !

Their service department will service your reel in 2 days for you and the
charge is a flat A$20/- per reel.

Their competitors are nowhere near them in this respect.

I speak from personal experience and have no affiliation with Shimano or
anyone else.
