Gentlemen,

God Willing,I intend to travel the length and breadth of our beautiful India upon retirement
to fish in as many different locations as possible, be they freshwater or saltwater.

For ease of portability (airlines), I am thinking of the following outfits:

.Loomis 3 piece 6ft.9in. rod rated 15-30lb lure wt. 1/2 - 2 oz. mated to
say Saltiga 3500 reel - this outfit for heavier estuary and
boat fishing

.Shimano Exage STC 8-9ft (6 piece) rated for 15-40gm lures mated to
say Stella 4000/Certate 3500 HD reel (mahseer fishing/shore fishing)

. Ugly Stik 3 piece 5ft.6 in. rated 10-15 kgs. mated with Penn Spinfisher
560/760 series reel (trolling in ocean)

.Lt.wt. 3 pc. rods adequate for trout/murrell fishing mated to size 2000 reel

What are your thoughts and suggestions pls?

Kingfish

Sound like you have got it all.

I juts disagree with one. The Light weight 3 pc rod will be adequate for trout but will be a disaster with the Murrel. You need a rod with backbone and a reel with a good drag for those mothers.

I think you have covered it all.

Best of luck for your planned trip. Fishing length and breadth of India is a job in itself so you will find yourself rather busy even after your retirement.

Regards,

Ali. :P

Alibhai,

Thank you for the carp fishing offer... no need to stock the lake
as I am past the stage where numbers or " must catch something" really
matters!!

Kind regards,
Kingfish
