Hey guys,

I was getting ready for my trip to Goa and I saw this gel (Trigger X Pheromone Gel - Saltwater) that claims to increase strike rates.

You apply it to lures or ait and it slowly dissolves in water and acts like an attractor

Has anyone heard of this or used it and does it work?

Thanks for the help.

Hey guys,

There was some other tackle I was thinking about taking to goa and I wanted to hear your thoughts on some of the lures I wil be using.

This is my first trip to Goa at this time of year and I not to sure what to expect.

I hope the rains will have finished by the time I get there so the water will be clear for lure fishing.

Some of the lures I am thinking about are

Surface lures
Rapala X-Rap Walk 13 in silver and silver blue

Daiwa Saltiga Popper in either mahi or sardine

Rapala Skitter Pop SSP12 in green mackeral

Shallow diving

Yo-Zuri Crystal Minnow Floating F8 in black/silver

Yo-Zuri Mag Pins Minnow halo silver shiner

Soft plastic

Storm Wild Eye Live Mackerel 6"

Storm WildEye Live Sardine 5"

Storm WildEye Spin Tail Shad

Please let me know your thoguhts on this selection of lures at this time of year.

Thanks

KISS !

Forget the gel, just make sure you have some 4" and 5" shads and some 5" and 6" shallow running minnow lures.

Yeah! Forget the attractant. What ever their very clever advertising might say. I got suckered into some stuff in the States. It was called Stinkgel or something. Carried the dam bottle around for a weekend trip. Caught nothing. The bottle leaked. And the bag was not allowed into the car on the return trip.

More than the attractants you should worry about the repellents. Try and keep your gear clean. Don't pack lures and reels in the same bag that you carry your deos or other smelly stuff.

Hi Ken L and Mahaseerken,

Thanks for your response guys.

I was reading the other topic fishing in goa during the monsoons and I was wondering do the rains mean we have to change where we are fishing?

The tidal sections of the rivers, which I would normally fish, must be full of fresh water.

Will this drive the fish out into thie ocean?

Would it be a better option for me to fish rock areas of the cost like in fort aguada or can I still fish the same river marks I would normally?

I would appreicate your help with this dilema?

thanks

My experience of "monsoon" fishing is limited to Australia but fish behaviour knows no countrys.
In the "Wet", the barramundi are up high in the rivers feeding. They can still be caught in all the usual spots but if you have a boat, the mouths of all the little floodater channels running into the rivers suddenly become hotspots as well. Don't worry to much about coloured water, the fish don't care if you dont.
