Hi Guys,

I will be working from Mumbai for next few months. Will be staying in Powai so will try to fish powai lake if any of you nice souls guide me regarding permits.

I want to do some saltwater fishing also but don't know ABC of it so I need some guidance from you guys. Can you please guide me on what tackle I need?

Tackle I have currently:

Rods:
Temple Fork Outfitter 7" Line:10—25 Lure weight 1/2—1-1/2 oz. Heavy spinning rod.
Shakespeare ugly stick 7” line: 6-15 Lure weight: 1/8-5/8oz Medium action spinning rod

Reels:
Shimano Symetre 4000 size rear drag
Diawa Emcast 6000 size

Line:
All sizes mono from 8 to 40Lb

Lures & hooks:
Got rapala jointed, big spinners, frogs, soft plastic frogs etc (Need major advice here as I like spinning a lot)

I don’t think this tackle will be enough for sea fishing, please advice me what should I buy which will cover most of the fish found around Mumbai and other sea fishing places around Mumbai.

Hi Inder,

The Temple Fork rod will be more than enough for spinning for inshore fish, pair it with the symetre and 30 lb braid and it will balance well.

Welcome to Mumbai.

Santosh

Hi Inder,

Welcome to Mumbai mate. There is no permit system to fish in Powai and you can only fish there as a guest of a member.

PM me your number when you are in Mumbai and I will be happy to take you to Powai as a guest.

Ali.
