one of my dream came true
Let me first tell all you guys this would have not been possible but for my guru and dear friend Ali.
Ali I really owe my catch to you and your constant teaching and support'
Last few months had been pure dud for me as far as the fishing goes not only bad luck but as if some thing major had gone wrong I was catching almost next to nothing in Powai as well as in sea. Not that i didn't catching anything but apart from couple of sand sharks, few groupers and tons of cat fish there was nothing worth mentioning in this season. Also the fact that I had no time for fishing almost for four months from November onwards. one after one personal problems and work pressure, all in all basically duh!!!.
The fishes some how kept on eluding me on couple of trips of sea fishing which I managed in between apart from couple of catches as I mentioned
To top it all this summer and till now Powai was almost a nightmare for me whole summer, apart from some occasional Mangur and small Mirgal all i caught was the " Gobis"
The rains started and my mates(Ali and Santosh) made history in Powai catching Katla's of record sizes by hooking them properly in mouth . I was overjoyed (a bit jealous

) but little bit frustrated . Ali landed up home one day to explain and teach me how to balance my feeder rig for Katla and also to give me some pep talk. I decided to give it a try and for couple of occasion went to Powai to try my new rig but yet no luck also the time I was putting was not enough.
Today I decided to give some more time and follow the age old mantra of patience (Which lately I was in fault of loosing very soon) .
Me and Bablu Bhai (My dear fishing partner for a very long time now) landed up around 11 o clock at the club. We thought we are again late, but not loosing the hope we set up quickly and the old game of wait and see began . Today was a mysterious day by all means in Powai, from morning till evening 5.30PM there was not bite and no bite means no bites nothing the goli rod float did not even move once in all that time . The feeder too was absolutely still which was even more frustrating as on previous two occasion at least small fishes was biting and I even hooked five decent size Khawli two of them on my feeder rig.
I was almost loosing my patience again Then suddenly the feeder started to show some activity which quickly transformed into a continuous one and I had to replenish my feeder twice, suddenly the feeder gave two solid jerks and my reel screamed "oh my god i had almost forgotten how divine that sound is....' I picked my rod shaking with excitement as Bablu Bhai declared it is a "Katla!! Rajat Bhai and be careful do not hurry it looks like a big one". I too was quite sure that it is some thing big as i felt the pressure on my rod and on my still running reel .
I engaged my reel and started to fight the fish with my heart thumping with adrenalin rush but also I knew I can not yank this fish out no way(patience bugger i said to my self and god let it be a Katla) . It was all what Santosh and Ali have mention in their earlier post , a dream of a 25 min fight with first run of almost 100 yards and then numerous mid and short runs. I finally landed my first ever Katla a beauty of 25Lb fish
