Hello Fellow anglers,

Could any one educate me on how to use 'Pop -Up Boilies'? Some one has given me these Boilies brought from U.K. The packet does not mention as to how these should be used. They are round , dry balls and the packet mentions that it attracts fish. No other details are given. :?

Could any one advice me about how to rig them up?

I would appreciate your advice. :-)

Regards,

Arun

You need to use a hair-rig, Arun.
The boilie is threaded on the the "hair" adjacent to the hook. "Pop-up" ones I believe tend to rise slightly off the ground and allow better presentation. They are used widely for carp fishing. You should try them at powai - powai regulars claim you CANNOT catch fish on boilies at powai. I disagree, I HAVE caught fish on home-made boilies at powai.
There are earlier posts on this topic on the forum - in fact quite a discussion.

Thanks a lot, Hawkeye for your information. I shall see the earlier posts on subject in IA. As you suggested I would try these in Powai.

Thanks once again

Arun

http://www.carp-passion.com/Rigs/pop-upCarpbaits.htm

thought this might help. and just to add my two bits - when twisting the line on the shank to make your knot less knot wrap down the shank till in line with the point. havnt caught carp yet but a friend of mine swear by this little trick. do let us know how pop baiting at powai goes. iam going to be in mumbai for 3 months over summer and am looking forward to fishing at powai. if the pop bait works i could bring some down with me when i come.

regards
