hey guys
i have been looking for a rod and a reel for some time now........
i tried some tackle shops as well..........
im wondering which one to choose from!!!!!!!!!!!
as a starter there is nothing in specific that im looking to catch and thats why im not able to decide what size i should go for?????????
i already have a reel and rod combo(chinese made) for 4lb to 10lb....
and i want to have another set......
i do beach fishing as there is no other option available.....
the best that i have caught till now is less than a pound
and im really confused......
i saw a shimano 10000 series bait casting REEL only and the price was about Rs10,000
is the price ok or is it expensive!!!!!!!!!!!!!
should i go for a beach fishing rod!!!!!???????
as i dont have much idea abt what to look for in particular ur views will be very helpful.......

thanks in advance
regardas

Go for a lightest combo you can get hold off, you are lucky to have a tackle shop where you live. You can try all the permutation and combination, however light doesn’t mean noodely rod and a hopeless reel, the objective should be a combo with which you can cast through out the day without the feeling that your arms is going to fall off. :D

Since you're intrested in beach casting and the oppurtunities are there, why not a beach caster? a 8-10ft rod with a 20lb reel?

Beach casters are heavy-I have a browning 3m tele in fiber. Damn thing casts a mile, but NOT for your daily spinning  unless you're schwarznegger in disguise.
If you get a 7-8 foot spinner-med heavy to heavy with an appropriate reel, maybe you can try bits of both styles?
Since beach fishing is more predominant, BUT you'd like to spin too, doesnt leave you too much of a choice-...looks like 2 rods it is.
Go for a brand name rod-berkeley,shimano or Ugly stik? 1/2 to 1 1/2 oz lure weight, line rating of 15-20lb,2.3 to 2.7m max length and a matched reel? fishing in the ocean, may let yo use braid, if there are no rocks, so you should be safe enough.
as for the beach rod, ask around at your local tackle shop and get an idea of whats popular in your area-doesnt have to be top of the line...
Get back and let us know-lots of saltys here who would be able to help you zero in on a decent beach caster.

hey eljefe
Problem out here in kuwait(middle east) is that that either you get very cheap stuff from China or the brand names that are very very expensive :(
i saw a Shimano reel (only) and that was a bit above $250
now im wondering how to go about it.............
im thinking of getting stuff shipped from abroad as well  :?: :!: :!:
let me surf few more tackle shops and i will get back to you with a list of rods and reels (that are with in my budget :-) :-) )
thanks alot for the advice
and thanks in advance for ur future suggestions..............
regards
hozefa
