This should be a picture of a lure. It's one I gave to a mate called Ashok in Goa last year. He's had a few fish on it !

It's the long A.
It has a few good scars from the teath of Mangrove Jacks, the Barra have sucked off most of the paint and the hooks and splitrings have all been replaced but it's still fishable and as far as I know, he's still catching with it.

Old lures are like wine, the older the better to catch with.

I have a white Bomber that has caught me 17 barramundi and 3 grouper ... lost it on the 18th barra at bandstand that cut the line and got itself caught in the net the same day .. local fisherman knew it was mine and gave it back to me .. has been " retired with honours " as of now and goes with me as a lucky talisman on all my fishing trips ....somtimes one lure just gets the fish .... no logical reason but just works ... anyone has any such experiences ?????

Hi Fred,

I tried bombers from the beaches in Chennai and had no success. Also other anglers who had caught a lot of fish told that bomber lures didn't work for them too. I however am not giving up on those lures, but will try with other colours. Can you please tell what colour bomber to use for Baramundi's from shore. I have got them in Green and clear, Gold, Chicken scratch. Have you had any success with these colours?

Also I haven't seen a Bomber Long A plug in white. Can you please let me know from where I can get one in white.
Any tip on the conditions where bombers work great (if any) is also very much welcome.

Thanks in advance,
Maruthu

The original colour of the lure in the picture was "Mullet". I've caught plenty of fish on redhead, chrome/blueback and pink as well.
I would say that mullet seems to outscore the other paterns but that might just be a confidence thing.
I definatly prefer light colours for subsurface night fishing though.

In Goa, all the lads seem to be convinced that Storm minows wont catch fish. Unsuprisingly, just about the olny lures that are easy to get in Goa are Storm minows. A case of the grass be8ng greener maybe ?
