Hi Bops,

That is one great sketch its 10 out of 10 for David !! Brings back memories...

Once in the distant past I had been up the Anamudi peak to fish the trout stream there. The stream is inside the Irivikulam National park famous for Nilgiri Thar. One has to trek about 15 Kms from 3500 ft to 8000 ft altitude to reach the spot.
On the banks of the stream which is in the core area of the park there is a small shack called " The Hut". I met an Americam girl there who was holed up there for close to two months doing a paper on the Nilgiri Thar. This girl had sketched a male Thar called a "saddle Back"( due to the pattern like a saddle that the mature males develop on their back) on the wooden panels of the shack above the fire place. She drew the picture with pieces of charcol picked up from the fire place.
In the evenings with the rain drops drumming on the tin roof of the shack that THar used to come to life in the flickering flames of the fire place.

Tight Lines,

Jeen

Jeen, I know the spot. My cousin was working for BBTC on Anaimudi and we'd walked up there one day. Lovely place.

Great Sketch or photo that has been worked in photoshop. Not that it matters - just curious.

Stuart,
A lovely picture to treasure a splendid fish.

I too was fishing the Cauvery in March, first two weeks at Galibore. The Mahseer were quite a challenge - was my first trip! Was fish this from the Jungle Lodge area?

Loved the fishing so much I'm off to try the West Ramganga in October.

best wishes,

Mark.
