Guys! those photos tell a tale of a trip to remember years down the track.
I loved the photo of the fishermen pulling in their net,we voted that one as
one good enough to be published in national geographic magazine.
the extension to the umbrella showed some heat induced innovation !
down these parts its goggles , shorts, thongs and fosters! to cool off.
we never learn!
cheers!
Peter from downunder.

Those tilapia can be caught using light line and size 0 spinners.

Nice pics guys, looks like you had tons of fun.

Bops,

Yeah, Tilapia love spinners. Once while I wasnt having much luck coarse fishing with atta I took out a spinning rod and started casting with a no.3 Mepps. I didnt really expect to catch anything but the line went tight and I was into something that put up a decent fight. It was a tilapia of over a pound. I was surprised that it actually took a no.3 spinner.

Apparantly they like soft plastics too.

Hey Carl.. I use different size hooks depending on the fish that am going after..

For rohu,Khalbouse and mrigals, I use size 10 or 12..
For catlas, I use a size 6 or 8..

The funny part is that i caught my biggest catla of 14kgs on a size 10 hook

The hooks u see in Riaz's pics are perfect for rohu, khalbouse and mrigals..

On saturday Night Riaz Bhai & Prakash Bhai had planned a trip to Minchehbele ,,invited me too, immeditely messaged My Manager that Iam Down with High Fever  & will not come for the shift, :D as i work on sunday also (mon & tue weekly off)

Early morning on Sunday had Me & Prakash & two of his friends from Bengal, reached Riaz Bhai's plc to collect the tackle since he infomred us that some Business meeting had come up at the last momemt, man we were disappointed :? to hear that, but he encouraged us to carry on & wished us best of Luck, with heavy heart we hit the mysore road,-& then took the turn to Minchehbele
,had good roads being laid there so we zoomed & reached in no time, water level was risen considerbly. ground baited the area & started casting ,no bites :? ,tried for tilaphias ,no go ,tried the same till 2 in the afternoon, again no Bites, could see some Big spalshes near the baited area, then tried ground bating near the pump house after after that seems that our prayers have been answered, were getting Bites on every cast :D ,could hear the reels screem for a sec or two,no hookups, seems like fishes were teasing us & running away with our baits,

then prakash lost patience & yanked the line the moment the line moved, got small Rohu of 250gm,revived & released after taking snaps,by the end of the day,had caught 3 small Rohus in between 250-300gm,all revived & released to be caught again when it can attains gives some good fight :?

and also met some fellow anglers from Hybd & also IA new arriver Jose who were spinning with No luck,

any way here's some of the snaps.

Dont know how i missed this thread. 8) Great pics on an excellent location and very well presented indeed. Thanks Mken.

As for Talapias, they are there to be caught and anyone who cant catch a talapia should think of some other hobby. :D In one of the posts i mentioned that my sons caught more than 50 talapias in an hour using dry flies. we have been catching talapias on roti, malberies, boiled potatoes, earthworms, spinners, dry flies and even shiny silver hooks without a bait. A very tasty fish.

Its a great sight seeing the three musketeers entering the arena fully armed. I dont know how comfortable you feel with these big two piece rods? Due to carriage problems, i have now converted to travel/telescopic rods which fit into my ruck sack that i wear on my back. I have been catching fish upto 25 lbs with these travel rods though i still have a number of two piece rods of various sizes. If one is going for large size mahseer or goonch than one really needs to carry a strong two/three piece rod. With portable luggage, one can move around the water instead of sitting at one place. That goes very well with lure fishing which i am more fond of. But again, its a matter of personal style and liking.
Thanks for sharing the pics.
Regards
Sualeh
