...was a catfish!

Went on a fishing trip to Hesargatta lake with two friends from college .Used earthworm for bait.Tried using chicken liver and ragi but didn't stick well to the hook.

Didn't have a camera when I caught the fish but took these pics when I came back home/I'd wrapped the bugger in a newspaper and took him out like 4 hours later and guess what...he was still alive!

Didn't figure out how to hold the catfish without being pricked by the barbs..

A word of caution for those who plan to fish here- the lake's under contract and the local fishermen don't like anyone fishing here.In short, i don't plan to go back there.

Pran

Your First catch ? How do you feel after losing your virginity?

Nice catch. Next time you go out, please carry the camera so that we can have an idea of the places you visit.

Catfish are amazing creatures, I had one that somehow managed to leap out of my fishtank some time during the night. I found it the next morning somewhere on the floor in a corner. More than 3/4ths of the fish tail end up was dry with it's skin almost to a crisp. The fish was still alive however. I put it back into the tank and within a few hours it was like nothing had happened.

Hi Pran,

Don't have those cats any more, I have salt water fish in a reef setup now.

I used to feed that cat earthworms and guppies.

Regards,

Bobby

Pran,

It (singular) died because it tried the high jump once too often, then one day I could not find him.

Bobby
