Wow!!

Boy that's a Bong's wet dream. Big enough to make the entire city of Kolkatta get out the 'baath'.

Hey tell us more about - what rig? what bait? How was the fight? and everything else that came to your mind.

PS : Secret location??? Dude there should be no secrets between all of us.

Bobby!!!! why keep secrets.

Incidently the Bhakra dam is full of grass carp, mirror carp and silver carp. Have seen them break the surface and they are enormous. The local fishermen can't get them in their nets as the go right through them. I have seen only the small ones being caught and those are about half the size of what shown above.

I have tried floating banana stems with hair rigs, atta, bread, palak leaves, fresh grass (what they come to feed on when the water rises).... and everthing else..... but still I have never even got a bite from one of the big monsters. The lil ones take atta, sweet bundi (pilgrims throw the stuff in so the fish are used to it), aloo pakoras, namakparas, etc.

So all you carp men come to the dam and see what you can do. Honestly the amount of carp in there is awesome.

Since there have been so many enquiries re this fish and my good friend Junaid has been unintentionally mum on this, I can tell you that the lake is in Karnataka (but Hyderabad is closer to Bangalore than this lake is) and quite impossible to find unless taken there as I was.

The tackle used was the olden singh-ki-chadi, and ragi-esque bait was used. The fish, indeed, was released.

Brilliant lake for maral, which was my only motivation to go. Junaid is, BTW, one of the top anglers I have met on my many trips to India.

Mm

Actually no. This is what I find strange: we drive 12 hours from Hyderabad to the Cauvery. In another direction, we drive little over an hour, and we're in Karnataka, heading towards these lakes. How bizarre, how bizarre. Ever seen the drawings of M.C. Escher (if not, check Google)? This is how I feel going there. Those of a quantum bent may recall "wormholes" from blackhole to blackhole. As has been proven in space-time physics, a straight line is sometimes not the shortest distance between points.

Mm

It’s just a theory as yet I understand, but the wormhole possibly exists between Banglore n Hydrabad

Escher, is he the Dutch artist? If yes then I have a couple of Escher ties, I’ll wear them when I set out fishing, maybe I will get there faster..

No offence MM, just having a bit of a laugh

Khan-Guys...I too have caught fish of the same size at the same secret location. Will put my pic on the site soon.
The bait used is Konda and caught on sing ki chadi.
I am not disclosing the full address cause there is no proper road to this location. The Lake is a private property of a very close person of mine who i think is the best angler in Hyd.
