Hi friends,

Went for a fishing trip to Galibore with family and friends.
Bought my son Hridik a new Abu Vengeance 6’ rod and Shimano Alivio reel. Fellow took to fishing like a fish takes to water. Learnt to cast, strike and fight the fish in no time! He caught about 10 Mahseer and was thrilled. I need not search for company for my fishing trips anymore! :D

Some pics from the trip.

Image
The first was a small one. This was his second catch.

Image
This was a good sized one. The fight lasted for about 15 mins. I was not sure that the l’il fellow had it in him to land this one. He did not give up till the fish was at his feet. Good work with a 10 lb line.

Image
Fellow woke me at 6 am. Wanted to fishing. Was rewarded with a nice good morning catch!

Image
The missus wanted one too after seeing the son catching. Got a small one!

Image
Last one for the new angler. Was very reluctant to go back home. Went after I promised that I would be taking him on all my fishing trips!!

Image
Relaxing over a chilled beer after the morning fishing session.

Image
Srinivas with the first fish of his life. Was thrilled to bits.

Image
Two new converts, Srinivas and Siddhant.

Image
Siddhant delighted with his fish.

Image
The whiskey.

Image
Got this one on chilwa. No bites et all for hard ragi.

Image
A bigger one on chilwa again.

Overall a very enjoyable trip. Personally a little disappointed that I could not get my big one. Next time better luck, I hope.

Tight lines to you all.

Regards.

Great, really great,

It is always lovely to go fishing with family and friends. Some very good fishes and equally exited junior. Good of you to pass on the flag of passion to the Jen next.

Regards,

Ali. :P

King Fisher, thanks very much. The no hobbits sign was there on thetent before we occupied it ! Sorry about the Japanese. People who make such fantastic whisky do not deserve those earthquakes !!

Vijay, Kryptoz and MM, thanks a lot.

Ravi, Thank you very much. Got to meet up man! The Hibiki was courtesy my sister in Singapore. Great stuff. Yes the junior is in the fray now. A natural angler! He was telling me that I should be proud that he had got such big fish.

RajMallaya, looking forward to meeting you in CBE. Will try and setup a Murrel fishing trip on the week end.

Arish Bhai, Thanks for your nice comments. My son was pleased, reading your post. Why do not you plan a trip to B'lore this year end? Will take you to Galibore alongwith the Jr.

Bobbychyma, thanks very much.

Tight lines.

Cheers.

Ali Bhai, Thank you very much.

It was a good trip. I am disappointed that I could not get a big one. I was there in January for two days and about 15 fish above 40 lbs were caught by various anglers in those two days. I was there for 4 days this time and not a bite. Neither for me nor for the other anglers. Will have to wait till December for the next trip. :x

The Jr has been asking me to take him on a fishing trip. I was not sure he would be up to it. Proved me wrong though. The fight for the big fish was fought like a professional. He's just 10 yrs old and was on a 6 ft rod and a 10 lb line for hardly about an hour before! Got to teach him other types of fishing.

Tight lines.

Cheers! 8)

Hi Steve,

Thanks for your kind comments.

Yes, it was a pleasure watching the Jr fish. Like you said, reminds one of earlier times. Pure joy, unadulterated with the cynicism age brings in.

He's already my father when it comes to computers and the gizmos at home. I gave him an old laptop which he got it repaired, loaded Linux on it himself as Windows was not stable. Lately he has downloaded Windows 7 from somewhere, loaded it and got it activated !! Will be a pleasure watching and guiding him the next decade or so!

Galibore fishes well in late Dec to Jan. Mid Jan to end Feb is fully booked by Dave Plummer. Check pm for more details.

Tight lines to you.

Regards.

His first step towards hacking :) Give him two rods before he starts using distros and gets into defacements :)

Thank you, Sara. Yes, you missed the bottle. You were supposed to be there!

Manish, you will be catching many Mahseer in your lifetime. Blr is not too far from Nagpur. Closer to your place is the Ken river near Panna tiger reserve. Good Mahseer there.

Sanjay, Thank you. Take your little boy with you. Quality time!

Apoo, Jr says- thank you.

Spoonangler- Thanks very much. The Jr says thanks too. He's had it easy in Galibore as you get good bites and hook ups fast. Will have to see how patient he is in other spots.

Shukriya, Sherdil Syed Bhai !

Your comments are much appreciated by me and the Jr.

Fantastic fishing Sailendra, and special congrats to the young member of IA. Its a nice feeling to watch your children enjoy the outdoor and take part in activities like angling which will teach them to respect nature and the importance to preserve what we have, rather than spend time in front of TV or playing PSP/PS3 and what not.

I have myself decided to take my kids (8 & 4) out on fishing trips once every month, and the boys are really enjoying it.

Keep on doing it buddy, your kids will never forget these memories.

Cheers... Santosh

Thank you very much, Santosh.
I agree that the time spent with your kids on a fishing trip is qualitatively the best you get with them.
Also, you see the would be adult in them instead of the child you normally treat them as.
I was astonished at the character shown by the little fellow when he fought the fish. You donot see these things normally in your kids.
Best luck to you and your kids on your fishing trips. :D
Regards.
Tight Lines!
