Hello everyone,

Well... I used to fish at lal baugh lake with hand-lines in Bangalore long ago when I was approaching my teens. I came back to this sport recently... In a way it is a kind of virtue more than a sport or anything else. I prefer fishing to praying. Its a time I can indulge in something I really like and enjoy. I believe and god-willing I will go everywhere possible and my dream catches will not be dreams.... Having said this.... I came back to this sport of hooking up the fish. More advanced today where tackle can be more expensive but it delivers the rush too.... It was maybe my 6th or 7th time I went fishing, once again on a weekend, this time some trusted members from IA, Wonderful time I had.... We met, had some nice chaas, and then left for the place equipped with aata and I managed 4 worms after digging 3 spots so.... lucky me.... haha... We reached the spot.... made the aaata started casting, I then tried the worm after sometime, I saw the tip of my puny rod go shaky like an electricity jolt... I was more than happy... My friend said,"Wait, Next time you strike, I saw it go again and real nice this time and just lifted my rod and pulled it and reeled in at the same time, I experience a hookup. After many many years since I was a 13 year old teenager, It was nostalgic and super beatiful as then I had a handline this time I had something that had things like drag on it. Not that the one I have is great either. LOL! but I got her, she swam a bit here ther, I tightened the drag and she surface like a baby, I caught it. I fluttered a bit and then I just said in my mind, I dont mean to harm you at all, I promise I will let you go free. The FISH stopped fluttering, posed for a few pics and when I left it in the water. It stood there even after getting comfortable and swam away real slowly.... It was a very nice moment. The size of the fish is irrelevant I feel, I know I will catch bigger, But to come back and begin, this was beautiful....

I hope you guys don't laugh at the size of the catch!

the happy one

the one which makes me look like a father of the fish! lol!

as I always say, fish is a fish.
never mind the size.
it is hard to catch a 500 gram trout than a 5 kilo barramundi.
You have to start somewhere.. good start. congrats.

Ravi

Thank you everyone!
Yes Raj, You got my number! do get some of your handmade lures if your coming to Pune, I'd like to see them and take a few pointers from you and maybe begin with the craft myself.

Yes it is! Kindly share what has amused you enough to burst out laughing. I don't like reacting based on assumptions.

Nothing... I thought your first catch was a tilapia, Was surprised to see it was a kolus ! its a habit of mine(even I'm not proud of it ) to sometimes type "hahaha" to start my sentences, when I'm in a good mood...well what can you say, I am a gay guy(not gay-gay, gay-happy) ...sorry if you thought it was something else...

LOL!
I didn't' think it or you for that matter of fact were or is something else..... and even it or you were, It don't affect me in anyway, I am married and am very well aware of my orientation, thank you.

I did think at first you were comparing catches/sizes and found that funny, or you were laughing because of the discussions of my so called paternal instinct over the fish that was caught, however since you've mentioned why you were laughing and it was only because you were in a happy gay mood, its all good mate.

No offense!

Regards,
Omesh
