Still no sign of that long white beard, but at least he looks like he knows what he is doing!

Another baby bluefin. Are these fingerlings coming from malvalli Bops ?
The Kaveri (Galibori & Shivasamundram) seem to have mostly these fish these days. Before 2000, almost every fish caught was a gold or silver on the Galibori stretch. That seems to have changed, with fewer golds and silvers these days.

Hi Owen,

Most of the fish in malvalli are bluefin. Looks like that's what the breeding centre in the Harangi reservoir is releasing into the river.

Mmmmmmmmmmmm so that's it Bops, looks like the only who had luck with goldies this year is MM, the rest of us just blues'd out.
Is there a scientific name for this type that you know of ?
Bobby was interested in knowing.
Regards
Owen

That shot was taken about five years ago now, so how long have you been noticing those blue fins?

Heres a bluefin caught last spring.

We fished hard with lures for a week solid and caught all different varieties of mahseer, the majority were the blue-fins though.

Sam, looks like my old friend the blue fin grew up! LOL

Given that Steve posted that picture from six years ago it could still be the same fish!
