Hi All,

I was in Goa for a week on a "study" holiday. With a river for a backyard you can imagine how much I "studied" :P.

I tried lures for the first time (rubber shads and a red tiger rapala), lost 2 shads but no luck.

On the last day of my trip I fished from 6am to 1.30 pm with the tide coming in. This time I used dead bait (squid) and hooked a MJ on the turn of the tide (high - low).

Its not very big but at the end of the day it put a smile on my face and it tasted really good with Goan Recheado masala :)

Im back in Pune to answer my exams and then Im off on a road trip. Quick ride to Bombay over the weekend and then a ride to Goa where I will spend two weeks doing nothing but fish, fish and fish.

Hoping to catch up with some IA regulars over there.

Wish me luck

Regards

Danny

Hmm good one Danny boy :)

Just try to keep your mind off fishing whilst writing your exams :) Those fish will always be there for you.

Thanks for sharing the pics.

Danny nice catch.

I love MJ's not just for their table values but for their fighting ability, these guys can run once hooked immaterial of their size.

@ Raj and Merwyn: Totally with you guys on that one. MJ's can give you a real run for your money irrespective of their size, in fact they actually deceive you with that strength of theirs. The best part if you have hooked one in the day time is those flashes of red that you see in the water before you get them to the surface - priceless! :)

Shame the lures didn't work for you but at least the sgads are cheap.
Nice fish too.

@ Hozefa: Yea bro, the thrill of the fight is something only an angler will understand :)

@ Ken: I popped into the store to buy some more shads and was told that they don't stock em anymore, but what the heck, Ill just find another store probably in Bombay and pick some up. Its just a matter of time before I land one with a lure. I have planned a 2 week trip to Goa at the end of this month exclusively for fishing. Let's see whats in store :)
