I , Basker and Thangamani planned to go to Fishing in the outer arm jetty of the fishing harbour.......

But Basker changed the plan to goto Rocks near Royapuram......

I picked up Mani and went to Roapuram rocks at 6.00 am........

I and mani were rigging the lures and setting up the rod & reel..... Mean while Basker was casting handlines with large prawns.....

I started casting with Tilsan Barra plug..... 4th cast.... My rod bent and reel was screaming.... with exitement, kept my drag at full tight and started spinning.....Because the fish might run into the rocks and line might get cut.... withinn 5-7 minutes I landed the huge monster a 8-9 kg Baracuda....

Mani got next catch in his 10th catch of same size......

Nice cudas there Bala. What is the specific name for these cudas ?? They look very different from the ones we catch here. Ours have protruding jaws and big heads.

Dude, resize the pics to 640x480 while uploading the pictures. You will soon know the reason why. By the way nice barracudas.

Guys, very nice! I fished at Royapuram last week with Robert and other friends but did not have much luck. The locals were pulling out Barra and MJ using live bait. Will try to join you all for another trip to Royapuram soon.

BOPS, I missed to see you when you were here.

yesterday Evening again i went to the same spot, using the same plug. No luck.

Robert and Pratap (Prithvi brother) were also trying. We tried red head, stick bait, roosta popper, and many other plug. Water condition was similar. but there were no actions at all.

Bala, we should try every jetty in a regular basis. We dont have to strict to this jetty.

Hi Mani, yes we missed each other since you were out of town. Next time I will fish only with live bait, the plug fishing does not seem to be working very well.

Sayeed the great lionheart thank you so much for the plug you suggested me.
You remember the gold color plug which we picked up from one of the shop in mumbai. This plug really worked well and got me the barracuda.

I have emailed my caught pictures.please post it for me. I don know how to do that.

Do you remember the name of the plug. Please let me know. I need to buy few more since this once got damaged by two barracudas.

Ofcourse I remember the name of the plug and that I will tell you only  after Mr & Mrs MANI agree to have Biryani at my place

Thank you MM...

Nerul is a place in Navi Mumbai. It was not Nerul Briyani, there is a very good place in Nerul for Hot Briyani. So i called it nerul Briyani.

Thank you friends.

The fight was really exciting and i intentionally played with lesser drag, so it gave me good fight.

Everytime we use to go there, casting different plugs, poppers but at the end of the day handliners with live prawn shows results with good size barramundi, gropers and snappers.

This week was totally different, only catches was by plugs. Handliners with live prawns have not even experienced any hit. Hahahahahahaaaaaa

I made fun of them, usually they make fun of us for casting n number of times and the plugs.

My special thanks to the barracuda.

Mani,

Dont worry that feeling goes through every anglers mind when you are not catching anything and the rest of the world is pulling loads out of sea. :) Thats an unforgiving attitude of us anglers :)

Cheers

Actually, to my opinion, we must learn from their experience too. And they are always willing to share it for free. There were times when I have caught more fish where they think there are no fishes. They told me where my lead weight should be....... etc. And I was catching fishes more than I could contain (small game) and I didn't care, I was catching fish at every drop of line. So sometimes no fish, they make fun, sometimes fishes and fishes and they gather around you to understand your lure............... If you take the positives you can learn. I consider my self nothing as compared to those localites who catch mullets, I have caught only one and I consider them as the hardest fish to catch. It takes skill to gather them and hook them, Fight is not great, but all the skill is to gather them and then catching them at every drop of line.
