After my last fishing trip to konkan last week, I was itching again for some fishing so I head to my favorite spot in Mumbai to invade Bobby's and Freddie's backyard for small game on light 6lbs tackle using small 2inch lures got around 9-10 fishes most of which were groupers great fight on the the 6lbs mono, also got 2 baby snappers but could not click pictures as both of them fell down on the rocks when I was lifting them just gently pushed them back and let them go, the water was brown in color got all of them on the Red Head and Firetiger.

All the fishes were released....

You must have had fun hey? Love the way these burgers ambush and run for cover. All the fishes are giving the expression of "Baby make AAAA!!!" when you want to feed babies :p

I have heard there are TUNAS in Malvan :)

Thanks for sharing the report Dilip.

Tight lines - DeZZ

Thanks Apoo and Dezz.

As for the Tuna, this is the time they are migrating from way down south from the Maldives all the way to the Gulf passing by Gujrat and Pakistan, they will be back after the monsoon's traveling the same path and this time these guys will be past 20-30kg mark and by the time they go south towards Lakshawadeep and Maldives some of the Tunas caught here go upto 50-100kgs also, this info. was given to me by the local fisherman in Mumbai who after the monsoon catch Tuna by the tons, If someone can add more info. to this it would be great, I still have to catch my prized Tuna, till then just waiting and gathering info...

Very Nice,

I think the sea link is attracting more and more fishes. Augers well for future fishing on Mumbai coast.

Regards,

Ali. :D

Thanks Alibhai, I bet if we were to take a boat and spin across the sea link pillars surely something big will hit us there, only problem is we will be chased away the moment our boat is seen anywhere near the sea link,

regards

 I guess the fishes there know you very well inside out {that this guy will never kill or eat us} so they willingly throw themselves on your plugs , ever wondered why? the answer is simple = to get their lips and tongue pierced freely thats now in fashion underwater

take me there once and see the diffrence, when I bag three fishes the rest will flee to Dubai but will run from there aswell after seeing Desmond on dubai shores with his ugly stick {shakespere}

Hi Dilip,
Good show, and that too in Fred's and Bobby's backyard, amazing!! Always thought the water was shallow out there.
Congrats.

Your right Sydney the water is just 3-4 feet out there, if ever my lure gets snagged I just wade inside remove my lure and start fishing again,

cheers

Appreciate the fact that you are releasing these cute little ones. Hope you are following the rules of "Catch & Release". These are on the web and also summed up in another post on this forum. :-)

Great fishing Dilip. 8)

Thanks Jeen.

@Adolph don't worry mate I do follow the C&R rules as much as I can, why don't you also share some of your tips for C&R that you always follow while fishing in Goa and the Gulf.

Adding another grouper baby into your collection....that is a sweet spot to kill those boring hours and monsoon period. Looks like you even get fish on low tide.
