Hi Folks,

in the last weeks there was little time left for me to be active on IA. Actually I'm on a business trip in China. Today -beside work- there was some time left for fishing. Maybe the following pics might be interesting for you. They are showing tank fishing for crucian carp. Originally this kind of fishing (there are also competitions) is coming from Japan. The Japanese call it Hera fishing. It is a sophisticated way of fishing and quiete some special tackle is getting used. It's float fishing and I think the floats in use in China work in the same way as the THOMAS detective floats of old days. As a bait they use paste, plenty of different versions are available over here. hope you like the pics.

PS Hopefully I'll be able to add some more pics of other Chinese fishing styles in the next days.

This looks interesting, this looks similiar to Pole Fishing which I did in one the Canals in UK.

Some question
1. Can you describe the entire Method
2. What size hooks do you use
3. The Catch is it Catch and Release
4. what kind of a paste is that

Sorry about the question im slightly inquisitive

Hi Owen,

I will get you a few of those floats when I come down and pass them on to Freddy from who you can collect at your convenience.

Dear Derek,

will try to give more detailed information soon. At the moment I'm just too busy to do so. Maybe I'll soon get the chance to add some more photos of the chinese way of fishing. If so I'd also come back to your questions.

Dirk

Dibu,

Thanks for the pictures, I enjoyed looking at them, which also reminds me it's been ages since I went fishing.

Regards,
Mighty Marlin.
