Nice fish Derek,

Its interesting because we call the buggers with orange fins 'Golden Mahseer' and the fish with grey/blueish fins 'Silver mahseer'.

That fish def has a golden sheen. Interesting fish....

Regards,
Mighty Marlin.

Copper rings many bells for me this year MM.
As you said earlier it depends on the sun reflection off the fish.
But this one is light coloured at the bottom, while the one the rusky is holding is bronze all overwith blue fins, and the one that Robby is holding was copper on top with orange fins.
Three distinctly different colourations !
Posting the links again for a comparison

Hi Derek,

You mentioned catching the fish on a soft plastic lure. Could you post a pic of that lure?

They work really nice and I have the sinking types, I cast wait for it to sink and start spinning.

The lure looks like a fish unlike the plugs and it feels like a fish. Hang on acutally I have my tackle box inthe car, will get it out and post it on

Hi Derek,

I've used these while I was out sea fishing.... the very same as the top 2 in your first picture. We called them 'one cast wonders'.... got a strike on every cast and they came back without their tails :D :D

No reason why they shouldn't work for Mahseer and you've just proved that. I have some 6" fish that I'll try this season. Will keep you posted on what happens.

Regards,
Mighty Marlin.
