Hi All,

After many fishing trips, I finally caught my first Barra near my native place in Konkan. Catching my first barra was a great experience. The fish weighed approx 8 Kg and gave me a pretty good fight.
I would like to thank Debraj and especially Abhijeet who guided me to fight and land barra safely.

Best Regards,
Atul

Superb catch Atul.

What happened to that Grouper. Looks like it jumped in the paint ka dabba or probably it fell in there after the landing :)

Thanks for reporting chief.

Thanks Ali bhai and Dilip
Actually, I also thought the same because of the yellow color and put that grouper down and took a photograph.

That Bumble Bee Grouper is a real stunner, I am the top that it was released (VERY WELL DONE), this is a rare fish and can fetch a handsome price in the Aquarium trade.

For me it is the BEST FISH I have seen caught on IA without a doubt. EXCELLENT stuff guys.

Once again, you did a fantastic and very responsible thing by releasing that fish. Congrats!!

After all the crap over the last few days one could not ask to see anything better. You made my day. If you have some more pictures of that fish please email me.

Thanks Apoo and I agree with you. They all are expert anglers and are always willing to lend a helping hand to the newcomer like me.

Thanks Bobby and lionheart,
Sorry guys, the above photo is the only good photo I’ve got. I deleted other blurred images from my cell phone.
But you can download the original image from the following link:

Amazing Grouper!!!!!!!

I must agree its once of the Best Catches i've seen. Its also nice to know that our seas are home to some of nature's best creations. Good job on the "catch and release". A fish so beatiful deserved to be back in its natural habitat and not the aquarium or frying pan.

Tight lines

Keith
