Here are some pics from my fishing trips in 2009.

the 9" brown was caught on a size 8 prince beadhead nymph..the picture quality is not that hot as its grabbed from the video..i also caught a 14" brown later on in evening. this was early october, on the tirthan.trying to get the 14" off the video too but the grab is fuzzy.

we went fishing in summer on the baspa, in Kinnaur. I didn't catch anything but it was amusing to see the local guide lob pieces of MUTTON off the business end of his rod to catch trout. i guess he was trying to hit the fish on the head or something. in any case 3 days, no bites...but there ARE fish in the river..or so claims the fishery which is a good 40 minute trek from the main market in sangla.

Jan 2010, we went to corbett and i tried my hand with the Mahseer on fly...didn't have any luck. but my friend Vikrant caught one on his very first fishing trip on atta balls.

thanks!! its great to share with the community. here are a few more that i've managed to get out of the video. There IS a bit of photoshop involved to smooth out the video-ness but they are fish caught nevertheless :)

Image
14" or 1/2 a kilo...either way the biggest trout for me in 2009. Caught with a 5 weight flyrod and princebeadhead nymph. its right after dusk and the "boil" was just ending. i wasn't sure whether i had snagged on a rock when this one bit. I placed the hook just in the nick of time. You can see the beadhead very clearly alongwith the tippet in both the pictures.

Image
This is the same one , the head is visible just slightly better in the grab. I figured he was a male, the guide concurred...gave me a good fight..landed him just in time.

Image
Nightvision on this one...the beadhead strikes again, although i think this was a copper john, not too sure. That's me taking the fly off.

Out on the River...fun!

More Pools....

Thats my 11month old daughter, under the umbrella, catching her afternoon nap, in her car seat, while her dad is trying to guess what the fish are feeding on...

Image
And thats how youre NOT supposed to cast...8 weight fly rod...everything entangled!! word of advice : wear socks in the summers, the sand flies will eat you.

cheers!!

thanks!
the fly reels are cabela's 3 forks(orange line) and prestige plus(green line).

the spin rods belonged to the guide as i lost my line to oysters and forgot the spare monofilament at the hotel! i didnt check what reels were fitted on their rods.

i use a shimano sahara for my cabelas fish eagle 7' medium spin rod.
