Hi Everyone,

Thought i would share with you guys some pictures of the first barramundi that i had the good fortune to land from mumbai's shores. She weighed in just under 8kg and put up one great fight leaping clear of the water 3 or four times. I think our smiles say it all. Thanks to Abbey and Rajat for your help and great company. oh and thanks to my trusty lure for coming up with the goods!

All the best, Scott

Are you still around Mumbai ? If yes, for how long ?

Rajat,

I'm not talking till we take our trip to that spot. Was it the same place where we last went ?

Keyur

Well done mate. Having seen the water around Colaba (where it's so full of muck that it must be difficult to sink) I'm suprised that there is any worthwhile sea fishing to be had in the Mambai metro area and don't know if i'd have bothered trying to find out - but as Ian Malcolm says in one of Crichton's better stories "Life will find a way".

- Even if it is loaded with Mercury

With Ken getting all Jurassic on us, Bombay used to be one of the better places to fish in believe it or not, not that long ago even though it may seem so. Hope and pray that it will bounce back.

Well done Scott.

Compliments of the season

Bobby is correct as in the mid 70's I used to catch a minimum of 3-4, 1-2 kg fish using mud/sand worms off Naval hospital, Colaba in a matter of hours with basic rods and even handlines.

I stay at colaba and have fished here since i was a kid the water quality is getting worse by the hour here but this place still continues to surprise me when i go fishing every week, There are still Big Barra's, Groupers, Snappers to be found here in fact two months back I even had Big Cuttel fish charging at my lures.

Your not offending the Mumbai guys, Ofcourse not, we all can see the truth floating around us everyday, but still there is a ray of hope every time we catch something big in our backyard.
