Great catch there.
Got to love those shore caught beauties.

BTW, can some one tell if Threafin and Ravas are the same.
Are they similar to the Bluefish in the northeast coast of USA.
I used to hear stories about huge shoals of saltwater salmon in Chennai coast, not any more though :(
Also do they have razor sharp teeth, that are small but arranged closely and can snap fingers pretty easily?

Good catch ...must be Fine eating too....nothing like Ravas....Lure.....The Threadfin and Ravas same fish.....the ravas doesnt have teeth but very abrasive lips just like coarse sand paper....no they cannot snap fingers.

Hi Maruthu,

The threadfin and rawas are both the same. The blue fish is something different though both have simlar feeding habits and are good fish to catch and readily take lures when they are feeding. The so called saltwater salmon we hear about on the east coast is also the same. Yes they have small serrated teeth which some times easly cut a mono so a fluoro is a better option , though using a wire is also common. No they do not snap fingers the bite is similar to a snapper bite painful but bearable.

cheers,

Jeen

Hey Sarath,

Is that your first catch??? Are you sure?? If YES, May GOD bless you in your angling addiction. I'll pray that your family supports you in your angling expeditions.

Cheers and tight lines.
