Looks like baby threadfin. Bobby or Mighty Marlin would be able to provide better identification.

Most certainly Not a Threadfin, the head looks similar though.

I have been looking up my books trying to ID this one unsuccessfully so far. I think I have seen this fish along with Mandli etc and may be related. However never tried to ID it, I will need some more time. Perhaps some one will come up with a vernacular name and we can make progress from there.

Will be a tough one :-)

Are they juvenile Threadfin Salmon or putty nose salmon? Perhaps juvenile Dart or even Queenfish? Give up,Ileave it to the epert; Uncle Bobby!!

Definatly not a threadfin. My money would be on them being juvinile doublespotted queenfish, (Scomberoides, lysan).

Hi Guys,

Those are needle scaled queen fish. We catch a lot of them. They have a very bad sting on the dorsal spine. Watch out!
