More pix from my wonderful trip to Goa. Trolling in the mouthes of Nerul and Mandavi and around, 15-16 january 2008 (pix are random chronology).

Start point. Near Nerul bridge

My young ‘Sancho-Pansa’ : russian boy Max, son of my friends. He's very enthusiastic 'bout fishing: he can stand up at 4:30 a.m. and still waitin’ for me (total silence, without any sounds!) near the guesthouse's door till RIGHT time - 5:25 a.m. - Max, why so early?! Taxi will come only 5:30! (taxi from Anjuna to Calangute) - Hmmm... I can't sleep, - he said, - because..... What, if my alarm will be broken… AND YOU'LL GO WITHOUT ME! :D :D :D

Image

Yeaah, Max have proud!

Image

Unf***inbelieveble sunrise!!! (Trust me, guys, in REAL – it’s more impressive!)

Image

Maestro =Dean van Straaten=, and Tony – englishmans, owners of the boat. They are great! About Dean, I know him 2 years. Funny story: 2006 December I’ve searchin’ a charter boat – to do trolling. Nobody locals helps me, except my indian friend Anthony, he work in ‘Sunset’ guesthouse in Anjuna (about Anthony – another story, he’s sick ‘bout fishing!). O’kay, ALL THE TACKLES I have with: rods, reels, lines, leaders, vobblers, etc… I think, I was first crazy Russian, who BRING IT ALL WITH  … Once, I was in Mapusa, in ‘White Surf Tackles’ shop, and I saw a poster, just simple ink-jet-printed poster on the wall of this shop. =Trolling in Goa=! And I asked for the contacts – I became it! Just standing in this shop I’ve called to Dean – in 2 days I've expiried my first trolling in Goa. And I’m very glad to meet Dean! He’s very open, many emotions, many skills, many experience…. :D (Btw: he was Chief of Fire Service in London

Image

Tony. I can speak with Tony about Dostoevsky, Hamingway and Chekhov - …. and this moment will be a bite!!!   Guys, it’s a good receipt (® + ©: just speak ‘bout FINE ARTS and HIGH LITERATURE = results are guaranteed!!! :D

Image

OK, about results in my last 2 days in Goa.

Bream, about 4 kg

Image

Image

Dream-bream and grouper. Just grouper (5 kg)

Image

Image

Snappers

Image

Image

Image

Results may vary. Kindergarden snapper, the same 3 goes back in water.

Image

Ooops, go home, amigo!

Image

Last session of LAST day

Image

It’s, it’s aaaa… no words! Just sunset…

Image

(……CRAZY day, my 1,5 last day in Goa: starting 5:30 a.m. Anjuna – Calangute - Cocobay – trolling – 1:30 p.m. back to Anjuna = Fleamarket (last chance to buy gifts & souvenirs) – 3:30 p.m. quick back to Cocobay – trolling…trolling... Till dawn.... After that masala + vodka (good mix!) :D in Calangute – 9:00 p.m. back to Anjuna, last evening party with my new friends…. Till…. ‘last guest’, at sunrise  . 9:00 a.m. alarm: OMG!!! Maybe, I’ll change the ticket for one more week?! 2:30 p.m – Dabolim…. Delhi….. Moscow)

Last session was resultative too. 2 good snappers and another 1 grouper in last evening session = good bye, India!

Image

Image

Scale :D My size is 45.

Image

..to be continued with more pix  Next: night casting and crab-hunting, sea-eagles and sashimi, lures Top-5 shots (they works!) and Shiva-moon… I like India, I love Goa!

Moscow descent-2008. My friends & me.

El paradiso :D

Nice write up Alexey, I am glad you caught a 4kg Bream because someone on the forum mention the bream’s don’t go as big as that however I have landed a same size bream off the Chapora Jetty. They do get big over here. Please PM if Dean is operating till March.

Yes Fred certainly no Bream, it is a Maori Cod Epinephelus undulatostriatus I had posted a picture of one taken at Vengurla on my last trip there.

Hi Perkeo,

Nice report. I enjoyed reading it. The next time I'm in Goa I'll definitely carry a couple of light trolling rods with me. Did you guys do any casting/spinning? Did you pass a lot of structure like rocks and reef while you were out and lastly did you see any schools of bait/birds?

Regards,

Mighty Marlin.
