Some good catches there, mate... And how many rods were you guys using ???

Also there is a couple of Khalbouse in your catch and a what looks like a gar-fish hanging on to your line..

Do give some details on the baits used..

Good show Shaphan. I have noticed that you are doing quite well without me
The fish on the hook is locally called 'Kaan' (meaning crow) or tarakra in Punjabi. And as IG indicated, it is a pain in the -----.

Thanx every1....

As for ground bait used nothing 8)

Used worms as bait acompanied by weight chari. All fish were caught on the same combo. Caught nothing on Atta and Chemical.

Yes we caught 2 Kalbonse. And my guess yes thats a fresh water gar. Caught on worm.

Of course I forgot to mention that on our way back stopped over at the fish shops. And to our amazement Sol/Murrel close to 10 kg +. As I hadn't
taken my digital camera and my cell phone camera is not good at nite would have taken pics. Will try and get the pics next time.

Good job,
Those gars are plentiful in Mangla, they always chase your lure but rarely take it unless you fish for them specifically with a small spinner.

The Mirpuris call them "piper"(they probably resemble some type of pipe in Birmingham, or Bradford).

I've heard the Rasul has plenty of mulley have you guys ever caught any?

None this season.

We were below the barrage. I think the actual spot for Big Mulley, Singhara, Sol and Rahu should be up stream above the barrage. I am currently gathering info lets c what pops up.

By the way a week back a party from Rawalpindi caught a 5 1/2 ft mulley from Mangla at the sports club. They caught it on a juvenile dolla.

Ive been duck hunting on Rasul, but never fished it(That was during my teenage wanabe hunter days). Its basically one big swamp with deeper patches. Excellent predator terrain, the boatmen said its full of mulley and sowl.
