Greetings,

I went to the fling arranged by the StripersOnline guys in the Cape Cod canal last weekend. I was planning to be there for the barbeque on Saturday evening, but due to some reasons I only made it in the evening.

Met some nice folks that put me on to Bass. Rick was a very nice guy and gave me the chance to fight and land a couple of striped bass that he hooked and also taught me how to get them on the hook. After that I hooked and landed three stripers that night. What an amazing trip.

Here are some pics taken during the fling http://www.stripersonline.com/surftalk/ ... 254&page=6

Below is the pic of my first bass that I hooked and landed by myself. After that I caught two fish that were almost the same size.

Cheers,
Maruthu

Hi Murutu,

Good to see you on to some serious fish. That jig you used has landed quite a few blue fin trevalllys for us.

Were you casting and reeling or jigging?

Hi Jeen,

That was a 3 ounce white bucktail jig. We were Jigging it across heavy currents in the canal. I made sure the jig hit the bottom and was bouncing it on the bottom. Guys told me that the jig hitting the bottom was so very important to catch bass.

Cheers,
Maruthu

Greetings,

Went there last weekend and caught a couple of nice Bass (released both of them). Didn't take any pictures though.

After that the current got so heavy that I couldn't get my 3 oz jig hit the bottom at all.
So I was watching a guy next to me catch dozens of nice fish using a 7 oz jig. It was a nice trip though :-)

Cheers,
Maruthu
