Some pics from the weekend's trip to the WASI cottage.

Highlight of the trip was that both my sons caught their first fish and then some. So that's two more suckers hooked for life.

Hey Rustam,

Thanks for posting pics of our last trip. That was the first 'korava' I've caught in ages. Was plagued by them this trip...

I was at Metro this morning and inspected the 'fish section' and found their tanks full of korava, some upto 1.5kilos. I guess they're being bred somewhere.

Regards,
Mighty Marlin.

Regarding those two korava pics, let me know if I should e-mail the full or reduced size pics.

Hi Belli,

I am still quite wet behind the ears to answer this with any certainty but if the number of hook-ups on past trips to Shivsamudram were any indication, this being the 7th, I would say that it most certainly did.

On the other hand the majority of my time was spent with the kids and it was certainly worth the effort since they did not catch anything on their first outing a month back. They still cannot stop talking about it.

Rustam

I was great to see the kids fishing. Only their interest in angling will see to it that we have some good places to fish. May their tribe grow manyfold! The rod in Shane hand looks like a Shimano Beastmaster. How well do they perform when compared to Shakespeare Ugly Stiks?

Regards & love to the kids.

I'll drink to that, Ashok.

Yes, it's a Beastmaster SBM210M. A friend has a cutdown (6'-0") MH Ugly Stik and I find that casts with that are far more accurate. Having said that, the Beastmaster appears to be a superior rod, quality wise and hasn't let me down to date. Another IA member will be getting a 7'-0" M action Ugly Stik soon and I will be able to give a more informed opinion then.

Will do. Thanks.

i have a 7 foot ugly stik medium action..
it balances off perfectly with me shimano 4000..
casts to perfection and the action of the rod ensures hook ups when a fish strikes..
its light enough to spin 24*7..
im happy with it.. :D

Very well done Rustam.

The boys look great. They will grow up to be fine outdoors men unlike the play station thumb generation.

Well done indeed.

Dev

Hello everyone.

Doing okay, Fred...when I am not in a cantakerous mood.

To all those with young children, I know it can be a pain taking the youngsters along all the time but I think it's necessary. So do it once in a while at the very least.

Rustam

I think a newbie along (me 8) ) can be a bigger pain Rustam!!
I was amazed at the skill, patience and the attitude of the lil fellers on my first trip out with you.And not a single birds nest too, while I had two
Since you have a lot of catching up to do, lets have some more pics?
Best
