This fish was double hooked, we tried to release it but unfortunatley it died, we took it to an orphanage in Port Blair, it took quite a few people to lift and get in the truck. On my trips we have had a total of 6 marlin, this is the only one that wasn't released.

Awesome pictures,

Is that a drop off near those small hills? Were those fish caught close to land?
I love to fish from land and planning to some fishing in Andamans. How about fishing from those drop offs from land.

Those pics were taken at Narcondum and Barren, two volcanoes where often within 100m of shore the water is over 200m deep, within 1km the water is often way over 1000m deep!

You need a big boat to visit these two islands they are a long way from the other islands.

Thanks ha sip ha sip,

I would like the feeling that I get landing them from land.
It is okay to visit that place in a boat, but like to catch from land.

you are not allowed on the land at barren, and to reach Narcondum you would need to charter a sailing boat or large motorboat which would be costly, the island is covered extremely thickly so I doubt you could reach the fishing spots. There is a small naval or coastguard outpost on narcondum witha few people present, i'm not sure they would even allow you to fish.

If you want to fish eigher island the best bet is a sailingboat or large motorboat. The local fishing boats are too small and would be dangerous if the sea got up. You are very isolated and need to be with a sfe vessel and expericanced crew. If things go wrong out there you are on your own.
