Over the four rounds of coffe in BANGALORE it was decided that RIAZ BHAI will join me later in MUMBAI when i'll be through to my work.
Mumbai was very humid and sweaty and the only respite was that at the end of it we'll have a fishing weekend. Riaz bhai landed two hours late and reached at my place around 1 oclock in night. We did'nt slept whole nite. Tommrow was the day. As decided SANTOSH picked us from BANDRA LINK ROAD exactly 6.30 in the morning.. Twenty minutes of drive and we were at POWAI LAKE. It was breathtaking view of a lake located in the middle of the one of worlds busiest and biggest city. The backdrop of HIRANANDANI COMPLEX was giving it even a kinda unusual looks. Then there were private boathouses known as MACHAN. It all looks as if they are kings having there own floating fishing decks.
ALI BHAI was looking towards our warm welcome and recieved us double of our expectations. Fifteen minutes of chit-chat-chai and we were on a adjoing boat ready to cast.
We witnessed a diffrent approach of angling than ours. The bait was different . Casting was diffrent, the arrangement of hooks were diffrent and above all the frequency of sprinkling grond bait type of material was most unusuall. They sprinkle a mixture of chiwda, oil cake, some bengali masala and mud every 10-15 minutes just over the float which will not be more than 8-10 feets away. Anyways we first tried our deadline casting thinking that within ten minutes of our cast we'll land somethin big. That never happened It was'nt unusual because of 100 years of angling at POWAI , the place is overly ground baited with all kind of possible masalas. Fishes dont take anythin unless u douze it with lots of sprinkling and other tactics. As we failed ALI BHAI suggested that we switch to their style .Although lake is loaded of +size ROHU, KATLA , MAANGUR but it was a bad day of fishing for us.
I returned at around 8 oclock but RIAZ BHAI was decided that he'll not return empty handed and stayed back at the boathouse for nite fishing which paid off in terms of 3 catches which include a 3.5 KG KATLA, around 1.5 kgs of two TILAPIA.
We were also joined there by INDIAN ANGLER member PHIS and VISHAL.
We extend our greatest greatfullness to ALI BHAI, SANTOSH and JAWAD for the warm LOVE and HOSPITALITY, not forgetting the
boatman who kept sailing to bring us food, tea and smoke every now and then.

Hi Prakash,
I was so pleased to see pictures of Powai Lake and all you lucky guys fishing there. It is sad that, Mumbai being the city where I was born and I have never had the pleasure of fishing it. However, later this year I hope to be there and fish it with Vishal and others. I hope that we can meet up then and marro guppa. Well done boys,
Henry.

Ronald, one of the best things I like about fishing, is the fact that you see new places and experience nature at its best by the river. Wouldn't trade it for anything else mate.

Yes, Prakash there are a lot of word restrictions. The site can be programmed to change some words which are not appropriate. Mod actually stands for moderator which is a restricted username.

Hi Ali!

I finally picked up the smelly stuff from Prashant. thanks a lot mate.

Now please tell me two things. First how do I use it. That is what do I do with the swallome tubes and what do i do with the crazy stuff in the plastic container.

And second, How do I get rid of the smell later. I have a feeling I am going to be sleeping alone for a long time.

Thanks again. :D :D :D :D

Yup! I know it is for rahu but how do you use the chatni. Mix it with atta, as groundbait... How?

And then there is the other thing... the tube stuff. What do I do with that?

Ali, Riaz... anybody!

ToitleKen - You just take a little on the tip of your finger and spread it on the bait, preferably next to the hook point..

Hey Toitleken - The "midnight" tube  is most probably a cheese mix, so suggest that you do not mix it with the Chutni..

Or you can throw caution to the wind and mix them together.. After all, you do do things differently from us.. We go out to catch fish with rod and reel, you on the other hand catch them TOITLES . [smilie=gt_grinz-browwiggle.gif] [smilie=gt_grinz-browwiggle.gif] [smilie=gt_grinz-browwiggle.gif]

Hi Henry Bhau, nice doggies!
Now you out to tell Ken and OB about lube tube, chatni etc?
Any one used Blacang? (malay fish paste, pronounced BLACHANG) This stuff stinks , very fishy and guess It leaves an olfactory trail miles wide.
I found good old bread with coconut oil and vanilla to be tops! now looking to add a bit of blacan to the boilng water used to mix Ragi.

Fred, I hope that congrats are in order. I believe that you have that doubtful honour of being registered in the Guiness Book Of Records.
Look up the paragraph on giraffes.
