Where in Goa ?

I might be able to give you a few pointers for the north of the state and someone like Dean has a much better angle on the south.

There's a fair bit of information here http://www.anglersnet.co.uk/forums/inde ... 3&hl=india

As to tackle, it depends mainly on whether you want to mainly chuck lures or soak a bait.

As ever with forums, the more information you can give about what kit you already have and what sort of fishing you enjoy, the more we can help you optimise your fishing for a new location and fing the best places to go.

make a trip to Panjim, there are a few tackle shops there. you can get a resonable rod and reel combo there. but the lure can be pretty steep. Line, leaders, leads and hooks for bait fishing are cheap too.

sorry can't remember the name but it is in the main market and the shops are pretty big. Local trawlers buy there nets from these guys.

they will charge u just for the boat... as long as u don't break or damage anything.. he wont charge u for the equipments..

Menin has 4 brothers,.. insist on going with his elder bro francis.. he will take extra effort so that u hv a good time..

Re. charge: depends on how much time u want to hire the boat.. goa is expensive if tourist are more.. on a higher side say abt 3k, if u get it for 1,5 k.. it should be a good bargain (this is for couple of hrs)....

also try to fish from dona paula late evening / night.. i m no expert .. but this is what i did some yrs back....

don't forget to check out the migratory fish that come on the beach for some sun...
