Hi, yes I have fished at Devbagh a couple of times: Here are a couple of things I tried:
1. Fish the rocks near the jetty where the boat anchors - here we picked up a couple of nice snapper in the evening. Try to fish an hour before and after high tide - we had the best results then. Talk to the locals and use just the right amount of weight - there are sand bags around that area and you can lose a lot of weights and hooks if you arent careful.
2. Ask Jungle lodges (if thats where you are staying) to let you use their boat and go out into the sea - get close to a couple of the islands (50 to 100 metres) and try live prawn baiting...works well. If you can - try to get the local boat guys to find Narayanappa (local fisherman) who can not only hook you up with some live crab - but also come out with you and help you find the right spots.[/img]

One more tip - the area off the islands is rocky and the toothy critters that will hit your bait there (reef cod, snapper, grouper) will head for the rocks and try to shear your line off - I suggest Mono with at least 2 foot of steel leader. We lost a couple of fish which sheared off 30 pound braid like it was sewing thread. :(
