Woke up at 2am and got ready with Snapper and Gummy shark in mind and got picked up by my mate and his friend in a boat.....stopped at Burger kind for some feed and chit chat and continued the journey. Had Lang lang in mind then had to change to corinella as my mate dosent have a gps and did not fancy getting stuck on a sand bar going by my track record
Water was glassed out and launched just past 4am and headed towards right for about 3km and anchored in about 13 meters water in dark and when the first light came up had the first rod go off and had a 95 cm keeper....then had couple of smaller models about 60cm ones that got released. Then things got a bit quiet so relocated o another spot and anchored in about 6meter water close to the shores od french island, in drop silence with birds chiping and we were just munching on some snack and enjoying this spot....pleany of nibbles but could not hook anything.

Chucked a whiting rig and a flathead rig but still could not tempt them they were nibbling the bigger baits only...so time to relocate again and with run out tide decided to anchor in the stong flowing bigger channel and achored in 21 meters water...water was ripping out and thought there is no way in hell there is going to be any fish in this current but checked few rods and within few minutes one of the rods started screaming and this thing was pulling like a freight train and then slowed down but could not get any line back and started to do another run.....with a 8000 reel size and with only about 50 meters of 60lb braid left my thoughts were i need a tuna outfit or somehing in this area....then the line came lose

after reeling the slack line in saw the 60 trace line bitten off and lots of marks on the leader.
Changes another rig and cast and the same rod goes off agin and again could not stop this thing and after 10 minutes of tug of war the line went lose and saw that the braid was cut  ....not sure wat this was, would have been nice to atleast see what this was. Anyone knows what this could have been? I could literally not reel it and let it pull the line even with almost full drag on baitrunner 8000 reel.
Then the tide flow slowed a little had a decent run on one of the rods and had a 1meter gummy, then in the next 2 hours we bagged out :yahoo: ...this spot produced 5 gummies with biggest going 1.1meter full length and couple of smaller gummies, and 7giller that got released.
