Strange that no one replied you. anyway let me just share few things i know about that place. i lived in shilling for 1 and half year but never fished in dawki coz its quite far around 2 and half hrs drive with a good vehicle and the road is not pleasant. Dawki is a place where the river drains to Bangladesh. the area is not that tensed but hey you must not step the other side.
the water is Crystal clear and low during late winter, turbid and high now. i saw local fisherman fishing with bread (saw them buying) and their secret ingredients on a boat and they catch quite a lot. as i was watching them from distance i dont know the species they are catching.
make frens with some locals and am sure it will be fun. i am planning to fish in umiam lake (badapani) on 5-6th nov. and my target will be carps

So what we do is feed them overnight on a location you choose to fish, next day hear the sweet sound of cranking reel creeee.....................nnnnnnkkkk (am a penn friend, so this is how penn reel cranks hehe!).
