Hi Jaffar,
There is a lake name pragati nagar lake near JNTU,
you can try ur luck there , they charge 20 Rs a day.
but area is not so clean.
your will get telapia all small size and Mrigals there.
folks there use only Amma brand atta :) (rice powder) as bait with really very small size hooks.

Jaffer,

It is very unfortunate to see many of the water bodies around Hyderabad being Contaminated. Durgam Cheruvu has become a Sewage Dump, and Manikonda is full of Acidic Construction wastes and foul smelling rotten weeds.

I spent most of my time fishing at my friend's lake which he leased from Govt, caught some nice Tilapia and Gold Fish(Carp).

Try fishing at Manikonda, there are two water bodies in that area. One is full with Murrel and other one has some Rohu. I also heard that there are plenty of Tiger Prawns being caught in Himayath Sagar due to heavy rains, each weighing 200gm ... can be caught easily on 14 no hook with flour as bait.

Good Luck and Happy Fishing.

There is a lake on the way to Gachibowli, just before the petrol pump, which looks promising. Did see a few nice splashes the last time I went there. Not too sure if we are allowed to fish there though...
