Hi fishergomian, Try Kanwa Dam which will come on your right while on your way to Mysore. The outflow does well on small spinner and you can bait fish in the main dam.
Try Balamuri which is outside Mysore. I've had some great small mahseer and murral cation on spinner there.

Hope this helps,

Mighty Marlin.

Hi Marlin,
Thank you very much for the information, had been to the Kanwa dam last saturday and tried float fishing with (bread paste+vanilla) mixture .Successfully landed two medium size Mahseer within 10-12 minuts .Both released and I had to stop why because it started raining heavily.
Hope I will have a great time when I go next.

:shock: :shock: :shock: Mahseer did you say? Out of Kanwa? Do you have any pictures of those fish fishergomian? I'd love to have a look. As far as I know it's stocked with common carp, rohu and the likes.....
I've in the past done some bait fishing in the main reservoir, but I preffered spinning in the outflow most times. I wonder if it's still the same as it used to be?

Regards,
Mighty Marlin.

I'd like to head down to Kanva, couple of questions before I do and get disappointed;

Do I need permission and if so where and whom do I get it from?
What bait/tackle do I carry along?

thanks folks!
Clive

Hi fishergomian, As Viper said it looks more like a Carnatic Carp or something similar.

Regards,
Mighty Marlin.
