Having nothing much to do over the week end, few friends and me decided to go fish at Bavani Sagar Dam before the season ends (with the onset of monsoon the water becomes high and murky and fishing is hard).

We fished the lake on 5th and 6th morning. Caught many small murrels, cat fish and butter fish.

One of my friend caught a murrel (6 kgs) on the first day and a Mulley (15kgs) on the second day. I thought it was worth sharing with you guys the pictures.

Apart from the fishing we had a wonderful time and reluctantly returned home.

Good fishes friend,

Congratulations to your friend.

One warning though, while fishing besides such kind of lake as you were fishing and the water is very low, keep an eye for bogs as they are very deseptive and dangerous. My self, Santosh and Rajat have experienced the same while fishing under smiler conditions.

Regards,

Ali. :P

Hey dude,

Thats a nice catch. I was also at a similar place at Pawna Dam and it looked absolutely similar to your location image (Guess all dams look the same by summer end). Saw a local fisherman catch a similar size fish but i was unable to catch it  But really amazing. Thanks for sharing your catch. Cheers mate.

Thanks all.

Ali, I have been fishing this lake for more than two decades now and still have not come across a serious bog. Any way will watch out while fishing. What you see in the picture is only a small part of the dam back waters and the water body is many hundred times larger than what you see.

MM, we were spinning with Mepps #3,4,and 5. The two big ones were caught with # 5.

Ravi
