The place looks amazing :)

It appears you were out there alone. Mate make sure you let people know when you venture out alone, its better to keep people informed. The water could probably hold fresh water eels and probably murrels and perch. Did you happen to talk to the locals of any fishing activity in that area? Where exactly is this place?

Cheers - DeZZ

I was with a friend. The locals told me that there is a lot of fishing activity in this area. This place lies on the Belgaum - Ramnagar - Karwar route. Its around 80 kms. from Belgaum.

From what little experience I have with freshwater fishing, the fish wont give you enough time to strike, they are way too quick in stealing the bait, like the fresh water eel, you wont even feel the bite. The PEARL SPOT (locally called KALUNDAR) for that matter just gives a tug and if you don't strike at the right time, its gone for good. The idea here is using a real light tackle and holding the rod in your hand instead so you can feel every nibble. This can be overlooked for salties as they have a vast water body to run to. This pics remind me of one of the places called Otavane in Sawantwadi, just praying that place is rejuvenated. It was over fished or rather destroyed by using dynamite for fishing. Even I was involved when this things happened but i was a little kid then and now I realize the importance of it.

the photographs are really nice, even i had passed nearby ganeshgude( infact we had booked a rock house/hornbill house for eco-holydays at ganeshgudi -and recently there was a feature on ganeshgude ""No big Deal” on NDTV good times ) but we changed the plan and went just ahead to "Kali adventure camp- Dandalli". even i'm fascinated with your "tailgaotor sunshade" other than amazon .com . How can you get it locally?

Sanjay, Thanks ! I dont have any idea if we get the sunshade in India. If you know somebody coming from states than is a good deal. The courier charges are equal to the cost of the product.
Cheers.
