Hi All

Looking at the possibility of organising a beach fishing trip. I really need some help on locations. Where when and what species can be expected.
Althought UK based we have fished in many countries but we always prefer to keep our feet on sand or rocks instead of a deck.
So can anyone help ideally acting as guide for a small group. We have just returned from a similar successful trip to Costa Rica and are very keen to locate additional unknown destinations.
Hope someone can help.
regards bronzie

hi Fredfish

beach fishing in India is something i know nothing about. So what can we expect where and when.
Ideally sandy beaches as oposed to rocky marks and a location where we can follow the bait shoals if required. We have fished in many areas of the world but not India as yet. Goa appeals mainly because its easy to get to from UK.
So basically where would you go and what would you expect to catch.

Thanks for your help really appreciated
regards bronzie

Small baits will catch catfish, catfish and more catfish..
Move up a gear and things get very interesting. I’ve been bitten of and busted up more times than I care to think about whilst fishing big fish baits at night but have yet to land any of the bigger fish.
I know there are big sandsharks, rays and wailers out there as well as all the other tropical beasties like grouper.

We catch plenty of barra and jacks on lures at night - but I’m sure you will have read about this on AN.

On the next trip, I will be geared up for heavy bait fishing at night (possibly with a sunken float to avoid the cats) and will be keeping an eye out for sardine concentrations in the daytime. I saw this happen close to the beach on several occasions in March but never once had my lure rod with me to see if anything was chasing them.

Another location for Shore fishing is Om Beach, its a nice place you can camp out there, you have a choice of both rocks and sand depending where you cast.

Use a 10' uptide rod borrow a chair from a shack out there and down some beers

TIP: Squids work best out here

"Another location for Shore fishing is Om Beach"

Wonderful location but has the big new hotel ruined it ?

The rocky promentary leading out to the island on the north of the beach is a good spot for small to mediun sized GT's on poppers in the wash and white water.
