Wassup Guys...

Long time no see...

Decided to hit Koseri Kamp at Bhakra this Diwali to get away from the Delhi smog. As usual hit the water before the vehicle even came to a halt upon getting there...

Here is the take on Diwali...

Gear Used:

Rod: Diawa MRS 802
Reel: Diawa D Wave 4000 loaded with 15lbs mono
Lure: Rapala DT 10 fire tiger

Catch: Total weight of fish caught over a 2 day window between 2 rods exceeded 100 lbs. Avg. wt. being 8 lbs.

Here are 2 of the bigger ones landed by me: One weighed in at 17 lbs, while the other one tipped the scales at 35.2 lbs.

Below are the pics:

Above: The crowning glory: the 35 pounder!

Hope to see you guys at Koseri Kamp for the meet in November!

Cheers,

Wonderful catch.

Did you spin for them from the boat or troll for them? How do you troll i.e. what distance behind the boat should the lure be?

Sorry for the absolute newbie questions but that is what I am.

All the best

Lakhyman

Hi Lakhyman,

We were spinning for them off the boat, casting between the boat and the bank...

Trolling speeds and distances and depths depend on the waters you are on... try it with 3 different rigs at different depths, to see where the fish are feeding...

Cheers,

Wow! Fantastic catch Dhruv! I hope to land a good one during the Bhakra meet next month.

I might be heading off to meet Mum and Dad at Palampur this long weekend. Will speak to you and maybe if you are at Koseri, take a "chai" halt on the way up or down.

Cheers
