Dear Anglers,

Did anyone had got a chance to fish at the pulicat(palaverkadu) backwater lagoon....

I heard that it is one of the biggest lagoon and it has a mouth that never closes at any season...

Iam planning to research this place... if somebody having an experience on this spot, please share it with me... That will be really great...

Also I am planning to vist this place next to next weekend.

Cheers,
Bala

Bala,

I have heard that place is a Barramundi paradise.
But it requires some amount of effort to get there.
You have to get to the river mouth at the right time/tide.
That would require a boat ride or a 4x4 access and fish in the middle of nowhere.

In my opinion that place should be fished by a small group of anglers on a dedicated one day/night trip.
But hey, I haven't made it there. So it could actually be much simpler than I sound or could be worse (getting there).

Cheers,
Maruthu

Follow this link for tide timings,

http://www.myforecast.com/bin/tide.m?ci ... onID=T1306

There is no special tide for Barramundi.

You may need live prawns to target Barramundi. It rarely takes dead bait.

Check with experts for right lure.

Santosh, Ali bhai, Rajat can give you better answer on Lure selection.

Do keep me informed about your trip. I may join if it is weekends.

Mani

Have you done fishing in Chennai fishing harbor? I mean the place near KASIMEDU. Planning to hit the place on Oct 31st morning. If you are free, come there. We can plan for Pulicat trip. May be on third week of November.

There are more GT's in harbor than in Kovalam, Challenging here is landing. BUt in kovalam, there is no possibility of line damaging by rocks.

I have seen lot of GT's action in Kasimedu than kovalam. Try with dumbell poppers.

Are you also friend of Prithvi?
