As I had mentioned in my introduction post about the disastrous debut on Oct 2nd
, at Yellama lake in the line of angling, Another anxious week passed by, touted with the thoughts of fishing 24/7, driving my wife crazy with my talks about fishing, and browsing through the forum .Just after the weekend began I was set with all verve for my next fishing expedition to this lake behind Jakkur air field (yelahanka, Bangalore). Syed (bought a great shimano rod and reel from Bopanna) , sheshadri (not a member of this forum) and I reached this place by around 4.00 pm and started angling, caught around 9 small Tilapias in a span of 1 hour. By this time the guy who had leased this lake came and drove us out. The only person who was happy after this angling expedition was Zeus (my German shepherd) as he got a royal lunch on Sunday
After the short experience we decided to go to Vemgal Lake on Sunday and do some serious angling, hoping to catch a big one. Thanks to Bopanna for all the help regarding the location and directions. The ride was smooth with a pleasant weather and we reached the place by 11.30. Started angling by around 12.00. Two hours passed nothing happened, not even a single bite, on to this there were the locals who stood on the bank commenting on what the hell we were doing in this place on a hot Sunday afternoon. Also I had to live up to the expectation of everyone at home and office (all my colleagues and family knew about this trip), although hope was diminishing among my friends who accompanied me, I was not going to give up until I caught one. Almost after 2hours came the surge of joy , I felt the line tight the float was not to be seen on the surface, the reward to my patience, a slimy mustached little devil. Yes
, indeed my first catch, a cat fish…..sky was the limit for my accomplishment …no words to express the excitement…… After around half an hour caught another one.
My first catch
Syed and me
I was feeling like the king of the world. I was still thinking about the two catch and for the first time I could hear my reel scream, this time it was a big one it took me around two minutes before I could bring the monster out. I was ecstatic but the joy could not last for long as the knot on the hook gave away and the monster slipped back into the lake. No regret as there is always a next time
The lucky one
Till my next adventure...............
