Hi,
Has anybody had any luck lately in Chennai ? Any interesting locations apart from Mahabs or Kovalam ?
Also can somebody put in the fish we could target in the ebb tide or low tide. Waiting for two weeks for the tides to be favourable does no good for my patience limits.... Wanna be fishing all day :D ....
Ummmm wonder if there's a full time fishing job somewhere  ... Manager - Business Development - Angling ... he he
Just kidding ..... never could stay serious for long
Have fun fishing everybody !!!

Went to check out a house in kamarajapur and fancied a decent sized water body just behind it. Locals were pulling out what can best be called perch by the drum load on 5 ft of line tied to a stick and with thermocool as float. bait was earthworm. didn't seem like permits were required since none of the chaps around the banks bore any resemblence to members of the paying public. spotted 3 pelicans in the middle of the water body which according to the locals had bigger species of fish which they were unable to land due to inadequate tackle.

If willing a recce can be made to properly assess prospects this sunday.

Regards
David

I am searching for one active in chennai. I used to frequent fishing harbour and the new jetties that are built in Ennore road. Most of them are made crap using fishing nets. I want to go to a place where there are no disturbance for the fishes.

Is there any good lake in chennai, Kamarajpur is far right?

Hello Madan,
If you're fishing up near Kasimedu try the pier at the fishing harbour. I dont think they'll have nets around there. If the action is slow on the sea side try inside the harbour. Salmonmani has apparently been fishing there and he's catching fish. No luck at Kovalam or Mahabalipuram still... the water's still not clear. Dont reckon the big ones will be coming closer to shore till we get clear waters again.
Good luck fishing

If you are talking about the pier inside the fishing harbour i have tried my luck there. Even there they lay fishing nets during nights. last weekend i was fishing there during night time and the catch was bad. Now too many nets are laid for nothing. I will try my luck next week on the jetties on new ennore road.

Who is salmonmani i might have seen him but don't know his name or nick :-)

Hello Debb,
That sounds interesting. Maybe worth a try. If I do get to fish there I hope it works out... :D
