After a very extensive planning and shopping, finally me, Amir and Qaiser managed a fishing trip to Tarbella. Our total focus was snakehead with spinning. It was a one day trip; we left home at 5:30AM and reached there at 7:30, reached the spot in 45 min through a launch.
My new fish-finder played a vital role in identifying the right location. In just 20 min I got the first bite on a 4# Mepps spinner. It was a big one, but missed as I think it was not hooked properly.
After that mishap we struggled for about 5 hours by using Soft Lizards, Spinners, lots of plugs but no result. Then I tried soft frog lure and hooked a big one in my second cast. It was a fantastic seen as water was so clear that I even saw him taking that lure. That one was also missed as the triple hook snapped.
After that I hooked two nearly one kg each and one about 3 kg one that frog lure. We left the place at 5:00 PM.
The rod / reel setup was Fish eagle II / Salt striker SS50.

Did you see the first big fish that you hoooked on spinner? If not I suspect it may be a mahseer.

It's getting warmer everyday, I think mahseer season should start by the middle of Mrach.

Hi Mobeen, nice fish! Can you describe how you used the fish finder to locate murral?

Thanks

That area is supposed tobe the home, only for snakeheads.
As you know fishfinders have no eyes

Bops,

What mobin was implying was that the area is a snake head haven. I was there last week and they are huge snakehead/murrals there. U can see them but the really big ones aren't feeding yet. They are alot of other small fish in the area like the silver chilwa, a local fish we call luriys, common carp fry and some talapia as well.

Will post the pics in this thread. I got one strike but the blighter threw the hook.

Dear, the bait fish you are talking about is avoidable in fishfinder. plz read Shaphan's comments.
That area was nearly 400 meters in length, the FF was showing fish only in two places, when it was set with less sensitivity with only large fish visibility.
