Hi fella anglers,

It was yet another day of trawling the Dubai seas. Occupants of the boat (Agnelo, Kevin, Keyur, and me (Desmond) set off the Jumeirah @ approx 0700 hrs started trawling with 3 rods. After trawling for nearly 20 mins the rod in my hand gave a sudden jerk and the reel started screaming. Keyur jumped (fell as well :) ) holding the rod. We did expect this one to be on our boat but something terrible happened and the 30 lbs braid compromised. Everyone of us was with the *** kinda expression. Trawled a bit more but no go so decided to do some bottom fishing. Managed to get some Yellow fin Scads, some sultan ibrahims and a grouper.

We later decided to trawl along the coast off the Burj Al Arab and no sooner we had passed that area one of the boat rods had its reel singing the sweet melody. Agnelo took to initiative to reel in the fish under the guidance of Keyur of course ;). Had no clue what it was coz it gave a run and then the line was slack and within 10 to 12 mins the king surfaced. What an excitement we had on all our faces. It was a good size kingfish weighed 22.50 lbs on the scale. The later session did not yield anything but we witnessed the most beautiful creatures of the sea. THE BOTTLE NOSE DOLPHINS. It was a family of four. Well that was all for us to keep our chins up. We called it a day.

HI guys,

yes, it was a good trip.

I have no idea what came into me & I decided to try a new yo-zuri deep diving trawling lure. For some silly reason, i kept saying that this has got to be the one & from the time we rached the jetty, I kept telling Desmond that today we are gonna catch something worthwhile.

The lure worked & the new lure looks like it has been through battle.

Desmond, I like your story....a few corrections though.

We set sail at 6:40 am, I didnt jump, I slipped & ended up flat on the deck fighting the fish, else I might have been overboard
Anyway, I couldnt help it if the fish decided to take a turn & the braid rubbed against the propeller, especially since I had my legs knotted up on the deck & couldnt move

Here are a couple of pics of the dolphins, and another one of the Burj Al Arab (only 7Star hotel in the world)

Hi Ali,

Please do not ask Keyur to put on more weight coz if he does so I will be opted out for the next trip. Have you heard of boats capsizing for carrying oversized anglers, well we don't intend to add to their list :)
