FYI: Please call me DeZZ. Teritex is the name of a building in mumbai
Hey ya fella anglers,
Guess what ?? It took me 2 seasons to land a fish that crossed my palm size and weighed approx 3.5 to 4 kgs. Today morning We (DeZZ, Keyur, Agnelo and Raj) went trawling off the Atlantis. Initially tried trawling, came across some feeding frenzy but no go. My eyes were all set on the trolling reels longing to hear the screeching sound. But I guess I'll have to wait for that :) We then decided to do bottom fishing. We had a look at our fish finder and choosing a good graph halted amidst the sea. I and Agnelo were on a SABIKI. Keyur was Jigging. After almost 10 mins I had a first hit and landed a Sheri (Sorry no pics). Was not too small but not big either as what I would expect in that depth of the water. After a short pause Keyur landed a Sultan Ibrahim of a decent size and then all of a sudden I got a good hit I realized that I had hooked a big fish. I made a mistake by setting the drag to a bit less than the max. The rod took a bend like never before it almost dipped into the water and next was my turn to take a dip. I released the drag a bit and looking at my terrible state Keyur took over as the fish took a run from beneath the boat. After a good 8 to 10 mins the fish showed at the surface. Lo and behold it was a good size diamond trevally. That sight made my day. This was one heck of a fish I have ever landed. Hopefully I would land a better one next time.
Gears used:
ROD: Cabelas MH 2pcs 7 ft for 15 to 20 lbs test
REEL: Daiwa Tierra 4000
Line : Power Pro Braid 30 lbs
Rig: SABIKI 20 #
Later Keyur managed a land another sizable fish. (Name withheld by request. Actually we don't know what they call it

and couple of sultans i guess though not big. I than switched over to Sardine as bait. I used a big one as bait but the rig that Iused was a wrong one. It was a rig with 3 hooks quite close to each other and so managed to hook the nose of the sardine and the head the other hook was left dangling. After a couple of minutes. I had a serious bit and some sort of odd thing happened and I reeled in. the bait was gone from right below the head, presumably a Barracuda got its hands on it.
Rest of the day was dry tried changing places but no go. Tried trawling close to the shores and reefs as per the fish finder but in vain. Below is the pic of the catch. Some more to come if at all the person who took them emails them to me :)
Well that's all. We called it a day.
Bops: Forgive me for the size of this image i guess its a bit too large. But next time it would be a better one.
