The Mangla Dam is the twelfth largest dam in the world. It was constructed in 1967 across the Jhelum River, about 100 miles (160 km) south-east of the Pakistani capital, Islamabad in Mirpur district of Pakistani controlled Kashmir.

On 9th November Me, Ibrar and Imtiaz went to Mangla dam. Our spot was very far from car parking. Four other teams sat there. We used earth warms, chilwa and ata as bait. We got success with ata and we caught one Singhara (Speratra sarwari) , one Mullee (Waflago attu) and 7 Mrigal/Mori (Cirrhinus mrigala). We met Mr Sualeh there (thanks to IA) he is such a nice guy.

Great trip mate and wonderful pictures. The place looks so much like Bhakra. Have you tried spinning. The singara will take a spinner and if there are any mahseer around you might get lucky.

I didt use spinner there bcoz i am carp lover.
Some years ago there were mahseer but due to netting and illegal way of fishing its rare here.
mahseer is at Tarbila dam which is on indus river.
Our officials is doing noting for save mahseer :(

Nice fishing Rizvi sahib. Keep it up and you may land many more fishes. Taking kids with you is a great way of making them aware of natural resources.

Regards,

Ali.
