Greetings Gentlemen!

The bad news is that the monsoons have really played havoc in the mountains, and done a lot of damage.

Two weeks ago, there was a freak storm all across Punjab, Himachal and Uttrakhand, which pelted the lower areas with rain and dumped a lot of snow in the upper reaches... unfortunately now, the snowmelt is comming down... All rivers are flowing at the high water mark, and Bhakra and Pong have both been put on high alert with the lakes being filled to the brim! Locals in the the areas below the dams have been informed of the evacuation routes.

So the fishing goes down the spillway... so to speak!

From the looks of it, it would be best not to rush the competition for October, and delay it till the conditions improve. The fish have also gone for an unseasonal swapn this year and I wonder what it holds in store for the future.

Please bear with me and don't let the enthusiasm die. I hope the extra time we have on our hands will allow more people in the north to crawl out of the wood work, and by holding all IA competitions across the country at different times of the year, we will acieve two basic objectives:

1) It won't dilute the zest of the cometition
2) It will allow members to travel to other regions to participate, thereby increasing interaction between members, beyond the forum.

If you have any suggetions, griviences, quips, please do post or PM me.

Cheers,
IG
